The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer Debuts, Revealing Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Actors
Nintendo and Illumination released the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on Wednesday. The reveal happened in a Nintendo-focused broadcast that centered on the forthcoming animated feature.
The follow-up to the 2023 blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this new installment will propel Mario to the outer limits of the universe. There, he will encounter a fresh princess character and a formidable new rival in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.
A Cosmic Adventure Drawing from Beloved Titles
Similar to the games from the Wii period that provide its foundation, Mario will venture away from the well-known surroundings of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. On his epic voyage, he will meet again some well-known personalities, such as the Luma, a fan favorite from the first movie.
But it appears Mario and his brother Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who reportedly utilizes powers related to metal. Worth mentioning, the preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not exclusively centered on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also features references to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Star-Studded Voice Cast Returns and Expands
The movie will see the return of the original voice cast, featuring Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. It was announced by the CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri.

The new Mario movie is set to release around the time of the 40-year celebration of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Beyond the film, 2026 is shaping up to be a significant year for Mario and his allies.
Nintendo confirmed a set of three fresh titles officially announced for that year, featuring Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a new Yoshi platformer titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
