Check out 29 New Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Featuring a Commander-Style Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-eating heroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's publisher, the game's creators, announced a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion at a special panel hosted at New York Comic Con. Could this be a radical addition or simply another crossover cash grab? We'll let you decide.

Check out here at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including some useful context. Everything mentioned here releases on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before diving into all the various unique products and collections on offer, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by the developers. Play boosters for the expansion are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a few surprising features. First, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where players can cheat powerful creatures into the battlefield when an attacking creature goes unblocked. The big difference here is that this new ability can apply to non-creature spells too. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the ability a bit (Sneak counts as playing a spell, unlike the older mechanic). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are players will encounter Sneak in upcoming expansions moving forward.

“If we ever were to return to the Kamigawa plane, we might use the original ability since that plane is it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” an experienced designer explained. “But in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and the new ability will be Standard-legal, it’s probable that we'd use the updated version.”

That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is among four special cards with unique artwork created specifically for the set by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman.

Oh, and, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play cards outside of your main deck, many players were. But as per Wizards, it’s now a legal card in every format of Magic.

In any case, here are the highly unusual full-art lands from the TMNT set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's current policy, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers say they were careful to ensure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for over a year and we knew it would be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be near it in standard,” a lead designer says. “We designed to ensure that they work well with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet archetype focused on artifact cards.

“They combine to offer the pieces for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” the designer says.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power

After declining to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it includes six different legendary cards that can serve as your Commander based on how you pair them (five of the cards have a special partner ability called “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command zone rather than just one). Take a look for yourself:

This Commander deck is priced at $69.99, though that could easily go up due to demand. Sources indicated that it includes 43 brand-new cards altogether, which means an additional thirty-seven TMNT-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary creatures shown above. (Calculating roughly, that also means approximately 20 reprinted cards if we assume the precon comes with 37 lands.)

What will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and find out.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

Typically, Wizards is offering a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Regular basic lands
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promo card
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

Pizza Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it comes in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Each Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza-themed lands
  • Five Foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Large life tracker
  • One storage box

For those curious what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s basically a reprinted older card with all-new Turtle-themed art. The team revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza. In total, there are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

This special bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is made for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. That will get you:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (the perfect amount a group of four to play draft)
  • One Collector Booster (aka, the reward for coming in first)
  • 90 Regular land cards (for building your draft deck)
  • 10 Regular token cards
  • One Draft insert (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic products specifically for new players. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of decks that allow two players team up against a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.

The general idea here that every Boss card gives unique powers to the creatures included in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically plays one other card per turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
